While wearing a Cleveland Indians hat the other day, someone here in Kansas told me that Wichita is "full of Indians fans."
"Really!?," I replied, "That's odd."
"Oh yeah, ever since Eric Wedge became manager and Casey Blake had his break-out year everyone in Wichita loves the Indians," he said.
Explanation: Wedge and Blake are former Wichita State Shockers.
Until I do some ground truthing, I can't confirm or deny the report.
Nate Robertson and Braden Looper are also former Shockers. I wonder if there are any pockets of Tigers or Cardinals fans in Wichita?
