I love to see the underdog succeed, especially a blue collar player who might not have the talent or tools of other players but has a relentless work ethic and plays the game the right way. Needless to say I have enjoyed watching Nate McLouth's early-season success. Nate is currently batting .383 with 2 HRs and a team-leading 14 RBI.Last night, Nate "The Great" came through in dramatic fashion, hitting a three-run homer with two outs in the ninth inning to give the Pittsburgh Pirates a 6-4 win over the L.A. Dodgers. McLouth's clout also extending his 13-game hitting streak.
John Perrotto writes a great article on Nate in today's Beaver County Times. Perrotto writes, "The great thing about Nate McLouth is, unlike so many others who inhabit baseball clubhouses, he has his head on straight."
