In the five-plus years since Great American opened, opponents have hit 633 homers and the Reds have hit 581.Last July, I proposed moving back the outfield walls at GABP and I still think this is the only way that the Reds are going to built a long-term contender. Winning teams are built around the fundamentals of pitching and defense, something that the current ballpark in Cincinnati does not cater to nor reward. The Reds need to move back the walls soon before their young pitching talent (Johnny Cueto, Homer Bailey, Edinson Volquez, etc.) totally lose confidence and their great young hitters (Jay Bruce, Joey Votto, Brandon Phillips, Drew Stubbs, etc.) stop trying to make contact and just swing for the fences. I'm afraid for some Reds players this is already the happening.
