Just in case you haven't noticed... the Kansas City Royals are still playing, and they're doing a pretty good job of it. Many of the young, fiery Royals are playing for a spot on next year's team (or at least a look) and the hustle and energy seems to be paying off.
The Royals just completed a sweep of the Detroit Tigers, a team that just looks like it's going through the motions after a VERY disappointing 2008 season. The result of the sweep... the Tigers are in last place in the AL Central and will probably stay there.
Royals Review points out that the Royals have the best September record out of all AL Central teams.
That reminds me of the 2006 Pirates who, if I remember correctly, had the best record of all NL Central teams after the All-Star break.

The Royals are the AL team I seem to root for every year. I like their young weapons, and hopefully they can become all they are expected to be. Especially Gordon and Hochevar.
