The Cubs and their fans were sure big talkers this year - "this is the year, this is the year." Sure they performed great in the regular season and then the pressure is turned on and they can't handle it - 4 errors by the Cubs' infield in one game. Choke - It comes with the uniform.“…they won’t win it because at the end of the day, they’re still the Chicago Cubs and they will figure out a way to screw this whole thing up.”
I'm not beyond it either, but I don't claim to be. The Cubs are kind of like me when I played Junior High basketball. I was pretty darn good in practice and on an outdoor court - tough defense, I could hit the three-ball, and throw a few elbows around - but put me on an indoor court in a game situation and I blew it. Throw me a pass and I would drop it due to sweaty palms. I couldn't even make a free throw because my knees were so shaky.
Maybe it's a bad analogy but that's how I see the Cubs.
