"You're not good enough to get guys out"

"You're not good enough to get guys out." That's exactly what Atanta Braves general manager Frank Wren told Tom Glavine. Are you serious!? For one, I guarantee that Tom Glavine is MUCH better than a lot of other lefties out there that somehow get the chance to pitch in the major leagues. Secondly, show this guy a little respect. He has been an icon of your organization. I don't blame Glavine for feeling cheated - he didn't get to take his final victory lap as an Atlanta Brave. I hope a NL team picks him up and Tom channels those emotions into a nice final season.

John Smoltz speaks out in support of his friend.

I'm a little bummed about the way they let Glavine and Smoltz go, BUT...Wren had to make room for Medlen and Hanson--the "new" Glavine and Smoltz.

I just hope they don't deal Frenchy for a sack of magic beans.

How would you feen about trading Francoeur for Brad Penny? That's a rumor I've been hearing.

I don't want to see Francoeur traded, period. Frenchy for Penny doesn't make a lot of sense to me--the Braves are OK on pitching, they just need to score more runs.

Glavine is a guy I want to see play forever. ANY guy I owned a Donruss of when I was a kid that is still playing I have to pull for to have success now.

Glavine can still be effective, but he's a fly ball pitcher now if you look at his ratio. He should try for a bigger ball park team to pick him up like San Diego, Los Angeles, even San Francisco.
